Weekend in Regensburg

Like you all know by now, Julia moved to Regensburg in October. After not seeing each other for more than 2 months, I finally went to visit her last weekend and we had sooo much fun!

Regensburg is located in Bavaria, Germany. Until last week, I only knew this part of Germany as a place where people drink lots of beer, eat fatty food and walk around in lederhosen and Dirndls (you can see them at a picture below). Who would have thought I would fall in love with this city?! I'm actually dreaming of moving there someday myself. I'm definitely going to take some lessons to improve my German!

The distance between Leuven and Regensburg is about 700km, so I had to travel a long time to get there. Friday morning, I woke up at 03h30 and first took a train to Brussels. From there, I went to Frankfurt and finally arrived in Regensburg after an additional stop in Nürnberg at 13h30. In total, I was traveling for about 9 hours.

Way too early at the train station in Brussels, Belgium

Julia had to be at school till 18h so I visited the city by myself, doing my best not to get lost in all these little streets :) I took the time to visit the Christmas market in the centre of the city and felt like an actual tourist! Of course, the best part of that day was the moment I finally saw Julia back!

Glühwein - YUMMY!

Need a new outfit? Maybe a Dirndl is something for you - straight to "das Oktoberfest"!
The Dom (Cathedral)

During the weekend, we visited the city some more so Julia could show me where she lives, goes partying with her friends, loves to eat, shops and so on.
Here you have some more pictures:
